Alicia and Alfred casually met in East Texas almost five years ago. They both moved from opposite sides of the state of Michigan to take part in a one year, super-intense internship. Teen Mania's Honor Academy brought these two together. Alicia landed the job as an assistant to the director while Alfred worked grounds in the hot Texas sun. Quite frequently, Alicia would babysit the director's three children... Alfred just happened to be working around the yard. I remember Alicia saying to me over the phone, "there's this guy..." With a strict no dating policy and a desire to stay another year, Alicia would have to wait not one but two years before she learned of Alfred's love. Alicia had a secret crush and at this point... Alf was clueless. Finally, in 2005 it became official for these two and they began dating. They embarked on a long-distance relationship, first while Alicia stayed a third year in TX and Alfred moved home to MI. One year later Alicia moved to MI and Alfred moved to Chicago on a baseball scholarship. The distance was hard, but the love between them grew more and more -- in the fall of 2007 Alfred finally asked the question Alicia had been longing to hear!!! We were overjoyed to share in their love as they exchanged vows on the second of August 2008!
I am so proud of my little sister! Alicia, you really found an amazing guy. The Lord has brought the two of you together and will bless your new covenant with Him. Your purity before the Lord has been an encouragement to witness. Saving your first kiss for your wedding day is so special. May the Lord bless you with many years of love and kisses to come! We love you!!!!
